Hello Sana - I'm happy to show you my half-finished sweater :-) I tried you initial suggestion of changing my hook to a larger size but the sweater was still too tight. Then I noticed your conversation with another follower Luz (past comments on this thread). I noticed that you had helped her increase the sweater size by increasing the number of pattern repeats. I tried that and IT FITS PERFECTLY!! Here is a picture for you:

Hi sarvani,
Hi sarvani,
If there is no way to adjust your gauge using a smaller size crochet hook or thinner yarn, then you may try to reduce one repeat for each front and back parts. So, you need to work one repeat for each of the four parts and make a foundation chain of 93 chs or (4 x 19) + 17. It is necessary to adjust your 2nd and all other rounds to the number of repeats accordingly.
2nd round : ch3, dc1 in sm.ch., [ch2,sk1, dc1, ch2, sk1, dc2 on 1ch, ch2, sk2, (sc1, ch3, sk2) x 3, sc1, ch2, sk2, dc2 on 1ch, ch2, sk1, dc1, ch2, sk1, Sep.1] x 3, ch2, sk1, dc1, ch2, sk1, dc2 on 1ch, ch2, sk2, (sc1, ch3, sk2) x 3, sc1, ch2, sk2, dc2 on 1ch, ch2, sk1, dc1, ch2, sk1 + sl.st.1*
You probably need to use a large size crochet hook to get the right size. Happy crochet!
